Summer 2010 training schedule is available here.

BMSS Swim Trials

We are pleased to announce that from Monday 14th June, club swimmers can have a 2 week trial with squad, followed by a further 1 month on a temporary membership basis. Full commitment to the squad would commence at the beginning of the new season in September.

The 2 week trial would cost £15.00 (this covers the cost of their insurance) and if they wish to have a further month, they would pay the fees of the level they were training with.

All swimmers are required to complete and application form that can be downloaded from here (pdf, doc or rtf). Completed forms should then be forwarded to Ian Spencer (Head Coach) via  or mailed to the address on the application form.

Bolton Metro Swimming Squad (BMSS) was founded nearly twenty years ago. Affiliation to the to the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) via the then Northern Counties was achieved with the support of the local swimming clubs and agreement was negotiated that swimmers compete for Bolton Metro at county, district and national level but still keep swimming for the clubs at local level.

We have a good relationship with the local authority, Serco and local clubs.
We have Swim 21 status and have visits on a regular basis from ASA staff, who are very supportive.

Our record of achievement and excellence has a great history.  We have developed swimmers that have attained county, district, national, commonwealth and Olympic standard.

We are also keen to foster swimmers with disabilities and we have an experienced coach with disability expertise. Some of our members are potential competitors at the 2012 Olympics.

We are naturally proud of our past achievements and look to the future as we are constantly striving to move forward, working towards excellence.
